Fort Lauderdale Grand Hotel

This was a terrible experience! If I could give it negative stars I would. My wife, my son and I stayed there because our flight was cancelled going to New Jersey on December 20th, 2025. First of all I paid for the hotel including taxes according to the website but when I got there I had to pay an extra $27 dollars for services plus a $50 dollar deposit which has not been refunded yet. When we arrived we heard a scream and people running to the front desk saying someone Over dosed in the hallway. The hotel itself was smelly and did not look clean. We got our room assigned on the 4th floor (Room 406). The elevetor was slow and it stopped really abrouptly. When we got out the lamp in the hallway was flickering like in a scary movie and the floors were dirty and torn. The room smelled really

I'll start with the positive. Desk staff were great. Especially the lady working the night we check in. There were 6 people checking in ahead of us and she was working by herself. Great attitude and smile on her face. By far the best experience at this hotel... The rest not so much. Totally got catfished on the photos they have posted vs what you get. The door beadbolt lock didn't work but we had the latch so that helped. The room may or may not have been cleaned before we checked in. The lights were rusted. The safe was rusted... To the point I wouldn't put anything in it in fear that I wouldn't be able to reopen it. Toilet didn't fully flush. I left feeling like I needed to shower but wasn't trusting their towels.

Positive: Nothing! Negative: The hotel is dirty, the room had RUST on the toilet tissue and towel holders, there were only two VERY FLAT pillows on the bed and only TWO towels on the rusty towel holder! I was so turned off that I DID NOT sleep or use the pre-paid room at all!

I see why this place had availability when other hotels had none. The one lady that checked us in was nice but the other one seemed like she was just waiting to clock out when she could’ve assisted us. There’s also a dude that plays loud music on portable speaker like we have any interest in what he’s listening to. No one does. That’s why there are ear/head phones. The rooms. You need to see for yourself. Some doors don’t even close. Honestly felt like I was on a set of a horror movie. Book at your own risk.

With everyone’s review in mind I came here midnight as my flight was canceled. I had a sketchy feeling walking in, however the room turned out pretty ok for a night sleep and I actually got a comfortable bed, room fresh towels, clean linen and decent bathroom / tub shower. The FIVE STAR rating is for Rose! She’s so friendly and had allowed me a late checkout waving the extra ($35) fee and understanding I checked in late at night. Just ask and be nice and you get it! Overall not a luxury resort but a cool place to spend a few bucks, check in and get a undisturbed night sleep in a comfortable bed
