Forest Lake Motel

It's a very friendly couple that owns it. There is a cozy and friendly feel to this little motel. The rooms are clean and somewhat modern but somewhat outdated. We had a full size fridge/freezer in our fairly large sized room so it kind of made us feel like we were at a cabin. BE SURE to eat at the Forest Lake Restaurant next door as it is some of the best food and priced food you will ever have (you won't leave hungry ). To sum this up, just because it's an old "ma and pa motel"... Don't let scare you away.

Laid-back comfort, easy access from US 2 & great location for a "base of operations" if out to explore a lot of N.MN. Essentials needed for dealing with picnic supplies & leftovers that can't be left behind can be kept in the frig in the room. It was full apartment size.. haven't found that the case very often & I loved it. I found the room north woods attractive & the staff, especially housekeeping, happy to work with our needs...notes to & from which I hope they enjoyed as much as I. I'd love to stay here again.

Would be a great motel to stay if the AC units actually cooled the rooms. Can't sleep because it's too hot. The little AC unit isn't big enough to cool the rooms. If you don't mind being hot and sleeping in a hot room it is a nice room with a big fridge and is clean.

The rooms are cleaned, lots of Parking, friendly and understanding staff/ owners. Great location by the lake and for being in town, it’s actually very peaceful. It’s a great place to stay!! reasonable prices and pet friendly. You won’t be disappointed!!!!

I wish I could make this zero stars. My boyfriend reserved this room for us and our stay in rapids. First night there I encountered itchy sensations all over, removed blankets and sheets and found tiny bugs that had been biting and crawling on me. I notified the housekeeper when she came to clean but the front office never did anything. And I saw two mice (edit yes this name isn’t on record as my boyfriend reserved the room, please read your comments better. Also you chose to believe your staff over customers when they speak out on problems the housekeepers are ignoring or being rude to. I voiced my concern to them as no one was at front officed, was offered no refund as well due to rodents and bed bugs! Definitely home this place gets shut down!)
