Flint River Outdoor Center

This was one of the best shuttling experiences I’ve ever had. Everyone I encountered here was friendly, helpful, and kind - even the youngin’s! The set up and shuttle made everything so much easier, and of course the river was great too! Will definitely be utilizing them in the future!

In years past when traveling, I never asked if a business gave a Veteran Discount. The past couple of years I have, what the heck .. usually it’s been given with a warm “ Thank you for your service “ …. Not at the The Flint River Outdoor Center. I ask and the Woman said “ yes we do , but are you really gonna be that cheap? The discount is only 40 cents off! “ It’s taken a long time for my girlfriend to train me to save money, so I said yes. Then I told the woman to take that 40 cents and stick it in her “ Tip Jar “!!!! As if that’s not bad enough, we were charged for their “shuttle service” - that we didn’t use - because the driver left earlier than our slated time - and yes, we were there and ready! I Pray Tell that visitors far and wide don’t leave this place thinking that this is

If you need a kayak shuttle to fish the Flint River, this is the place. I would avoid any holidays or busy weekends because there will be a ton of people also using the service. If you must, make sure you get there very early. Nice people run the Outdoor Center. Make sure you bring cash for a tip!

We rented tubes as a group to float down the river. The river experience was beautiful, truly a great experience. One of the staff members at the outpost was excellent. She was personable and friendly and helpful to us. The other was not, she was incredibly rude to us, told us that we were inconviencing her because she wanted to leave early, and tried to talk us out of the rental at all it felt. She also gave us our tubes and life vests, giving a party of only adults primarily children's sized life vests, and tube with a massive hole in it. The experience of the Flint river was wonderful, but I'll never rent equipment from this location again due to the customer service making us feel unwelcome.
