Firefly Cabins at Winkley Shoals

My sisters and our spouses recently spent a long weekend getaway here. The staff was terrific! Shout out to Coy! Who rigged us up for fishing and made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay the best. The cabins were SUPER clean! We were literally minutes away from great food. Yet had all the amenities to cook ourselves. Great Stay! Highly recommend a stay here.

We stayed in 3e-has KB and a gorgeous view! I love these adorable rustic cabins. Pristinely clean and new. Very comfortable and spacious. Plenty big for my husband and me. Basic but stylish. I recommend packing coffee and a throw in case it gets chilly. Those would both enhance your comfort. You can walk about 100 yards to Chucks Diner for a nice steak meal or a little further to Cafe Klaser for a meal and cocktails (dry county; must pay $10 to join private club). If you forget your coffee there’s a friendly Exxon with a small convenience store about 2 minutes up the road. I loved the touches in the cabin like a sweet note from housekeeping and the electric fireplace. The cabins observe quiet hours from 10p to 7a which made everything peaceful. 8E Had wonderful time, really enjoyed beautiful cabin, (cedar ‘paneling’ and it smelled wonderful!) and entire area. Sonja was so nice and helpful replacing things we needed and giving us pointers on things to see. The private fishing dock was close and nice! Just across bridge, there is a launching ramp and walking trail to the river. Easy access and so fun sitting on porch watching fishermen (and women) in boats and waders. When the water came up around 5pm the days we were there, the ducks, coons, etc went on the move! I'll certainly plan another trip. Also, Restaurant across road has excellent food! Please consider Firefly Cabins at Winkley Shoals!

The owner immediately got my attention when he responded to my initial e-mail queries so promptly and courteously. Upon arrival, the cabins were even better than described with beautiful cedar and pine interiors, wifi, cable tv and a full kitchen. The bedding was very comfortable and the location couldn't have been better with the Little Red River right out the back door.||Our first day, we hired Gene as a guide for a half day trip. The three of us had our limit of Rainbow and Brown trout in just a few hours. He supplied all of the tackle, bait and, most importantly, the expertise and patience to make this morning on the Little Red memorable. We will be returning, hopefully soon.

The cabin was perfect. I loved the space, decor and amenities. The staff were very accommodating and nice as they could be. We went trout fishing at the resort the first day and did not have the best of luck. The second day was guided and much better. Any day on the Little Red is a good day. There are two great restaurants near the cabins
