Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Pecos

This was a very nice hotel. The front desk agent (I cannot remember her name) was so amazing. She was super nice, friendly, helpful, and even joked with me and my crew. We had a little issue with our reservation, but she got it all figured out, and into our rooms. People like her, make traveling for work so much easier.

Positive: "" Negative: Room was used. Wet towel hanging in the back of the chair, like wet not damp, like someone had just used it. Shower had used shampoo bottle and soap.

We chose this hotel in a rush due to a family emergency in the area. We ended up staying two weeks as we searched for our lost dog, recovered valuables from a car wreck, and found medical care. In the face of such adversity, we were lucky to find ourselves in the company of angels at the Fairfield by Marriott Inn Pecos. MacKenzie at the front desk went above and beyond, not only wisely advising us how to handle the dog search but hitting the pavement over several days until Rufus was found at a nearby mancamp 3 weeks after the accident. All her colleagues at the hotel were kind, empathetic, attentive, and very patient with our many requests from photocopying to laundry to cleaning. My family stayed at this hotel last night while trekking from LA to Dallas for the holidays. I’m typically more of a Hilton and Hyatt kind of traveler so I was leary of this type of hotel feeling comfortable and safe for my family of 4. My concerns were totally unfounded. Everything was safe and comfortable for our stay. The front desk was courteous and quick. Our room was nice and functional- The large walk in shower was clean and well appointed with toiletries and needed items. The beds were comfortable and clean. The hotel was quiet and felt safe. The only minor issue I had was that the in room AC was really loud. It was right next to the fold out couch my kids were sleeping on. We ended up just turning the AC off and it was fine. This place is run down and not managed well. This is what you have a choice of for drinks and snacks. Water pressure is weak, shower made noise and shower head needs to be cleaned, water squirting everywhere. 2 out of 3 ice machines did not work. Breakfast was typical but they ran out of plates. The lady did say a truck was coming today. Carpet in hall on first floor has a big area destroyed. Just lots of maintenance issues or I should say lack of upkeep. Bed was comfortable, lots of parking, but that’s it.
