Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Mobile

We stayed here because we’re Marriott Bonvoy members and rely on Marriott’s good reputation for quality in the hospitality industry. Boy were we wrong! This hotel is WAY below any other Marriott we’ve stayed in. At check-in, we were willing to pay extra (compared with other hotel/motels in the area) with the belief that we’d get a nice room, a decent breakfast and an overall good place to stay. ||The woman who checked us in was very nice, but she assigned us to a really crappy room. The curtain had a big tear in it, the carpet was wet and the hotel elevator and floors were dirty and unkept. I was in complete shock that this was affiliated with Marriott. The only part of the facility that didn’t smell was the lobby. The elevator smelled like urine. The bedsheets had holes and stains. There was a spider crawling on the bed and on the toilet seat. The refrigerator did not get cold and it had mold. The carpet was filthy. It had old gum stuck to it. The shower was not clean. I gave 2 stars because the water in the sink gets really hot.

The positive. Beds were clean and comfortable. Multiple pillow types to choose from. The front desk lady and staff are friendly. The negative. Everything else. Super loud. Right next to I65. Sounds like your at Daytona speedway. The hotel is super old and needed renovations 10yrs ago. The ac is moldy and has broken vents. The bedside lamp is rusted and old. The alarm clock doesn’t work. The breakfast is sparse. The bathroom has cracked tiles, rot and mold. This place needs some serious tlc. The area looks sketchy all around this hotel.

Positive: I enjoyed the breakfast chef. She was friendly. Breakfast was perfectly prepared. The presentation was phenomenal Negative: There was a dead roach in my room, the pull out sofa bed mattress was stained & torn in various places, sheets were stained, a/c vent broken, the lobby smells like mold. There is mold on the ceiling by the elevator. The front desk agent wasn’t friendly

I stayed at this property from the 13th–15th and was extremely disappointed. The elevator smelled like urine, the first room had a running toilet, and the second room was not clean (dirt buildup in bathroom corners, burnt-out bulb, TV with lines across the screen). I even had to purchase cleaning supplies to make the room comfortable. Housekeeping never properly serviced the room, and each time I asked for towels, I was told they were “in the dryer.” I only received one set during my stay. Checkout morning housekeeping knocked at 9:00 a.m., yet I couldn’t get service the entire time I was there. This experience was far below what I expect from a Marriott property. I would not stay here again.
