Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Harrisburg International Airport

The presence of cigarette odor was quite noticeable, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of an ashtray. My visit was solely due to a canceled flight. While the location is conveniently close to the airport and offers a pleasant view, I found it to be overrated and overpriced. The televisions appeared quite dated, and the water had an unusual quality, as if it contained soap or a detergent-like substance.

The hotel is clean, and the beds are comfortable. Despite being right next to the airport, we were pleasantly surprised at how quiet the rooms were — we didn’t hear planes landing or taking off at all.||The stay includes free breakfast, which is a nice bonus. However, I do wish they had a bit more variety. The only meat option was turkey sausage, and the only oatmeal offered was apple cinnamon. The hotel is fine, the people who work at the front desk are friendly. The reason I'm only giving it these stars is because the manager needs to be more attentive and understanding towards his guests. I see there's a problem with the parking; besides charging you, they give you trouble parking, even though you're paying. I drive a Dodge Ram and a 20-foot trailer, and I explained that I only needed to park it for one day because I needed things that were in the truck, and then I would take it to the airport parking lot. They said they would let me know, but nobody told me anything, and I had to park there because I'm supposed to be a guest and I'm paying to use the parking. The next day, the manager got upset because he saw my vehicle in the parking lot and complained, using excuses, saying

Positive: Convenient. Stayed there rather than risk icy roads to get home from work. Negative: Price. I understand taxes and "fees" will be added to final cost but, to add a $5 daily hotel fee to the already high room price, should be a crime. It is basically a bait and switch. Also, breakfast eggs were obviously powdered eggs.

I've stayed here several times. It used to be decent. My last stay was a major disappointment. The room was filthy and had a terrible smell. I informed the front desk when I checked out and they brushed me off. It becomes more evident all the time that status doesn't mean anything anymore. I've been Titanium for years. I think I'll be switching to Hilton.
