Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Gulfport

The hotel is in a great location, with plenty of food options and shopping nearby, including an outlet mall, which was very convenient. The room itself was worth the price — it was spacious and included a microwave and refrigerator, which I appreciated. That said, there were a few issues with the room. The shower wasn’t sealed properly, and the rooms could benefit from some minor updates. Breakfast was by far one of the worst I’ve experienced during my stays. The juice machine was down for the entire duration of my stay, the bacon was overly crispy, the turkey sausage was dry, and food items were often limited and not well stocked. Upon arrival waited close to 5 minutes to get checked in as no one was at the front. Once someone showed up, friendly and polite. |Tv was junk, screen kept saying run auto channel check for 2 hours. I finally figured out the issue and corrected myself. I did alert front desk and was offered a different room but I declined as who wants to pack up again after unpacking to go to another room. Ice machine on first floor didn’t work had to go to 3rd floor, the desk wasn’t clean and had dried up debris on it, bathtub had multiple hairs on the wall and in the tub..so much for a clean room!

Positive: "" Negative: Carpet between the bed and bath walls had all sorts of debrie and hair. Shower water up to ankles slow slow drainage. Bath sink had no stopper. Anything drops down there gone.

Indoor pool freezing. Breakfast eventually started after 730am. Prepackaged everything except sausage patties. Coffee out, hot water for cocoa out and no one at front desk. Parking lot is DARK and while I think the area is pretty safe that’s a potential danger you put your guests in. Elevator doesn’t have buttons that work that great and housekeeping manager seemed to think her stop was more important than ours. The room was clean. The hotel was clean. Bottom sheets need to be replaced since house keeping couldn’t get the fitted sheet around the bottom of the bed. I was able to but the elastic is wore out. Below the quality that I would expect from a Marriott hotel! The hotel is in extreme need of an update. Moldy window frames, dated furniture and decorations. Relatively clean but hard to notice due to worn flooring, roughed up walls and musty smell. Toilet ran also continuously for 2 days. Notified the front desk after first day of continually running toilet and wasted water but no repairs. If not for the AC running to cancel out the noise, the running toilet would have been more irritating at night. The dryer vent apparently discharges in the front of the hotel. Lint covers the shrubs and flower bed. I can accept that it is an older hotel but poor /no upkeep is not excusable.
