Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Fort Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port

Our recent stay at the Fairfield Marriott FLL was impeccable. Check in was smooth and easy, almost now wait even for a busy evening. Room was in great shape, modern, plenty outlets and USB ports, two TV, and a very comfy sofa bed that accommodated our family of four. Parking was safe and available even when the lot looked full. Noise from departing airplanes ceased at around 10p so had no impact on our sleep, but of course there will be noise being 8 minutes from the airport. Room AC was strong, a bit noisy, but well positioned to not be bothering. Bathroom was updated and working perfectly.

While my previous stay at Fairfield Inn & Suites Fort Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port was pleasant, this visit was disappointing. I checked in early and added my name to the wait list. After seeing guests who arrived after us receive rooms, I assumed we were next. When I approached the desk, Kim rudely informed me that I needed to be added to the “two-page wait list” instead of simply verifying how many were ahead of me. Her tone was unnecessary. She then engaged in conversation with a guest behind me who commented on my frustration rather than professionally redirecting and continuing service. The manager apologized and issued 5,000 points, though I was under the impression it would be 10,000, which added to the confusion. This morning we came down 15 minutes early for the 3:00 AM air

Positive: Hotel building and accommodations were good. Negative: Staff shuttle experience from the airport was terrible. After a 25 minute hold phone experience at 11:30 pm, we met shuttle which was full and driver said he hated his x&$? job. 2 calls and hotel sent uber that only held 4 people. We told her we had 8!

Our family stayed at this Fairfield on the evening of Dec 23rd, our last night on our trip to FLA before heading home. I commended my wife for choosing the hotel for our last night because it was a great way to close out our vacation and made the early trip to the airport easy and hassle-free. The hotel is a little older but appears to be very well kept, well maintained and I thought the rooms were well cleaned. The parking lot was full so it appears a lot of people take advantage of this hotel for sleep,park and flys, etc. We stayed one night and used the shuttle early in the morning. Service was good and the van was a decent size. Service begins at 3a and I assume it goes not later than 12p. It runs every hour at the top of the hour and does make one other stop at another Fairfiel

We are Bonvoy members and always use their hotels for travel. This hotel was substandard for a Marriott property. No safe in the room. No clock in the room. Noisy AC, although that at least drowned out the noise in the hallway. Breakfast was mediocre. Good eggs, but awful turkey sausage. Glad we only had to stay 1 night.
