Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Duluth Waterfront

Paid extra for a harbor view but really overlooks a parking lot, not what I expected. Wouldn't pay extra for that again. On the plus side you could see Bentleyville on the distance. King room with sofa bed was nice, water pressure in shower left much to be desired and remotes barely worked. Commissary was expensive but I appreciated having it. Breakfast was fine, had a lot of options just not well cooked. I would've appreciated a guide in the room to local restaurants and such. Overall I would stay again but not for the price we paid. Unfortunately we were placed in a room in the midst of a bunch of hockey families whose parents let the kids run amok in the hallways, screaming and playing hockey. We stayed at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Duluth Waterfront last weekend and booked a Harbor View 2-Queen room. It was absolutely worth the extra money. The view of the Duluth Aerial Lift Bridge — plus watching ships come in and out of the harbor — ended up being our favorite part of the stay. It’s especially beautiful at night.||The hotel is just a 5-minute drive from AMSOIL Arena, and depending on the time of year, it’s probably walkable. Because the property is located on the other side of the Lift Bridge, you do need to be mindful of bridge lifts for vessel traffic. The hotel has upcoming ship times posted in the lobby (and they’re also listed on HarborLookout.com). We just planned ahead if we needed to be across the bridge at a specific time, since a lift can delay traffic by about 30 m

My kiddos were very disappointed that they were unable to use the pool in the morning. They woke up extra early in anticipation of jumping right in the pool only to find out it was being cleaned and treated when it was suppose to be open. We asked the front desk and were informed it wouldn't be available until well after our check out time. It was a big deal for us as the pool is always the number one highlight for our kids and we didn't get to utilize it the night before. We had a nice stay otherwise. Very comfortable beds. Kind and helpful staff.

The king room at this hotel feels large and the bathroom is very spacious. The noise level is minimal. Included breakfast is ok and the business center is very public so be careful if you need to access something confidential.

3-star gem. Spacious rooms. Clean. Comfortable. Quiet. Friendly staff. Conveniently located on the other side of lift bridge away from canal park. Kind of a loner location but in a good way. Not too busy which was nice. Price matched facility. Lots of unexpected amenities for a three-star hotel. Would stay here again when visiting Duluth. Great view of sailboats. Workout area. Swimming pool. (Didn’t use either though)
