Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Abilene

I stay at a lot of hotels for business. The amenities could use some touch ups mostly aesthetic. However, the services was impeccable. The staff has been very attentive from the moment I checked in until the moment I left. Breakfast was wonderful. Everything was clean. Staff extremely polite. Coffee 24/7 which is great for early flights. Bed must have been comfortable enough…I fell asleep at 6:00pm and didn’t wake up until 6:00am.

This is a really nice Fairfield— clean rooms and a good breakfast (with a bigger menu than I’m used to seeing, and meticulously cleaned), and the staff couldn’t haven’t been nicer. (I might be biased since I was the lucky traveler chosen as the hotel’s “Guest of the Day” — thank you Natasha!! After a long day of driving it was a much-appreciated welcome.) |It’s also convenient to the interstate, I should add, with quite a few restaurant options nearby.

Positive: The beds were comfortable Negative: The key card didn't open the pool every time we went . I was quoted one price then my card was charged almost 100 dollars more.

I stayed at this hotel back in December and am only writing a public review because it is nearly three months later and I am still waiting for resolution to the issue of finding cockroaches in the bathroom in the middle of the night. The room was outdated, no charging ports at all, and fell below Marriott standards for cleanliness but I figured it was one night and I could handle it. I did not put my luggage on the floor and I’m glad I didn’t. I woke in the night and found cockroaches in the bathroom. I have communicated with the hotel directly, shared the pictures, and was told I would be compensated with points. To date, that has not happened. I have followed up with the corporate customer care with 6 phone calls and still nothing. Very disappointed.

The hotel was clean. Staff very friendly. Time for an update to the rooms. I checked in late and was given an accessible room. Breakfast was very good. I was surprised by the cost of hotel for this size town and hotel. Over $200 with tax.
