Extended Stay America Suites- Newark - Woodbridge

It smells so gross inside. The bathroom was disgusting, there was mold in the bath tub. We had to switch rooms. Bathroom sink water was building up. There is only one bar of soap for shower which is gross . The drawers and kitchen cabinets all crooked. Reason this got 3 stars is because customer service was great. And this was a cheap stay along with great location

Positive: The location was convenient to where I needed to be. Negative: The shower curtain rod was falling off and the shower head was spraying outside the shower. I asked the front desk agent to have it addressed, he said he would but nothing was fixed. My clothes was soaked the next time I showered. Dirty hallwaysworse ever

I wasn't going to post my negative experience, however, on behalf of hard working consumers like me who earn their money, I feel compelled to share and document the worst weekend of my life while staying at the Extended Suites America Woodbridge this weekend. It was so bad that I checked out earlier than expected and went to another neighboring hotel, Holiday Inn. The Extended Suites was a huge dump. They are advertising as a clean "home away from home" environment but it is a scary environment. There are displaced individuals living in this hotel as well as smoking in the hallways. It gives homeless vibes. Also, there were old mattresses, couches, trash bags, bed frames everywhere in the hallway. I couldn't make it to my room without falling. Staff is OK. This is the most unprofessional establishment I have ever stayed at. I had to go downstairs to request pots and pans, which this is the first Extended Stay that didn't already have them in the room. While I'm down there I get hit on by the guy at the front counter, which was extremely awkward for me and extremely unprofessional for many obvious reasons.. Once I told him what kitchenette supplies I needed and made it clear I wasn't interested he told me that someone would be bringing the pots and pans up to my room with a smile on his face. Everything seemed fine. Almost an hour goes by and I call the front desk in which the girl answers and tells me he's still getting things together and says something very close to "if no one brings the pots and pans up I will bring them myself." Really nice location, but really bad experience. I paid for the stay before arriving and the front desk charge me again, when I went back and asked the other girl was not friendly at all. This is not professional at all and not appropriate. This property is under construction and it was very noisy on the third floor. Bed frames and mattresses were placed on the hallway. Inside the elevator and third floor hallway smells like weed. This is a non-smoking hotel, but too much weed, and the smell got too strong early in the morning, it woke me up. And the cooking smoke came through somewhere to the room as well. I got really bad experience and I left early in the morning. No need to take any pictures, I don’t want to waste my storage space in my phone.
