Extended Stay America Select Suites- Orlando - Convention Center - Sports Complex

I'm a firm believer in brand consistency. I've stayed at 3 ESA locations now and it really must depend on who is managing the location because you can't expect the same level of quality at any location you visit. We booked this location because it had a "fully equipped kitchen" and it was close to the convention center. Upon arrival, we found appliances that looked to be about 30 years old with no utensils, pans, plates, cups etc in the room. The listing indicates that their rooms feature amenities such as fully stocked kitchens, however there is a card in the room indicating that you have to call the front desk to request these amenities, I'm guessing, for a price. The room appeared to be clean however, some kind of bug was crawling around in the bathroom when I got out of the shower. The

I have stayed in an Extended Stay hotel before and didn’t have a problem but this one is very bad.||The first thing I noticed when I walked in was that it smelled like straight up weed. I chose to ignore it because maybe it was just from a guest that walked in.||I checked into the room but I noticed there was damages in the bathroom that I did not want to get blamed for so I asked for another room. The second room wasn't much better as you can see from the pictures I've attached.||I tried to cook dinner on the stove but the burners never got hot enough to cook it. I tried to cook it in the microwave instead but no matter what buttons I pressed, the microwave wouldn't work either.||The hallways still smelled strongly of weed and I had trouble sleeping. Positive: Nothing...see my comments...I want a phone call to ---....want my money refunded! Negative: On Saturday, July 26, when I tried to check in, there were NO rooms available - they were ALL DIRTY! Every housekeeper but one called off. At least 6 people were without rooms. I understand ESA is a pet friendly chain, but the very first thing that hit my nostrils walking into the lobby was the unmistakable scent of cat urine. I had what turned out to be a handicap accessible room…which smelled like musty water. There were stains on the carpet, the tub faucet was leaking, the elevators smelled like stale cigarettes, the water smelled and tasted like garbage (great work Florida), and all of that for a cool $285/per night during the PGA Show. The only positive was distance to the OCCC, which was nice, but didn’t come remotely close to making up for what was otherwise arguably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. My experience here at Extended Stay America has been very pleasant here. The staff has been very kind and polite to all of the guests. Natasha (manager) always greets people with a smile and ask if the guests have all of their needs for their stay. She always strives her best to help out the guests, she's truly an asset to the company. EVERYONE KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT WORK !!!!!!
