Extended Stay America Select Suites- Clearwater

I wish I could give this place zero stars. My stay here was an absolute nightmare from start to finish, and I’ve never felt so disgusted by a hotel in my life. When we checked into our first room, the overwhelming smell of stale cigarette smoke hit us immediately – even though it was supposedly a non-smoking room. The floors were filthy and sticky, the furniture looked like it hadn’t been wiped down in months, and there was visible dust and hair everywhere. The refrigerator wasn’t working at all, and to top it off, there was a massive water leak coming from the ceiling that had soaked the floor and left a huge wet patch. We immediately asked to switch rooms. The second room wasn’t any better – in fact, it was arguably worse. Same pervasive smoke smell, same grimy floors, same thick layer o

I’m not sure if the previous guest actually stayed here. They don’t have a pool, free breakfast, or coffee, however the rooms are clean, inside and outside are clean and Tom the maintenance man is amazing. Please come see for yourself. The people that extend their stay are hard working people and help keep this place a nice place to stay. It’s not dirty, it does not stink, and the staff are constantly making changes to make experiences better. No matter where you stay you have guest and/or that make it bad or better. From the Gm to the maintenance man. Cynthia and Tom will ensure your stay is amazing.

Positive: The door lock was broken locked out 3 time hard ro reach anyone at the front desk took 1.5 hrs waiting to get in room .I liked nothing and it doesn't matter cuz yall got ur money this hotel could be alot better and run better Negative: Everything period

Not gonna do a long drawn out review just a short summary. I stayed at this hotel over 10 months after moving to the area from out of state. Trust me if I could’ve done better I would’ve, but I couldn’t beat the location for commuting to work. •Corporate sets the tone for the poor management of this hotel. My last issue before moving out 2/6/2026 was a sugar ant problem that I couldn’t get nothing done about for 2 months. Cynthia which is the manager on site needs to be trained on how to be a manager first of all. She is so rude, disrespectful and dismissive of any complaints you may have. I would say she really needs to be fired but I know the training comes from the top. You may say why not just switch rooms? As a former flight crew member who has stayed in thousands of hotels over the years, I can confidently say this was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. If I hadn’t been completely exhausted and booked through a third party, I would have requested a refund and left immediately to find somewhere else to stay. Where to begin? From the moment we walked in, there was a strong odor of urine mixed with air freshener. At first, I assumed it was lingering in the hallway, but we quickly realized the smell returned every time the window AC unit turned on. It genuinely seemed as though someone had urinated in the unit. The room itself was filthy. The floors were grimy and appeared not to have been properly swept or mopped in years.
