Embassy Suites by Hilton Brea North Orange County

This was a quick trip to attend a family funeral. The mortuary helped organize the stay. The were aware of why we were there and politely offered condolences. The assigned room was very nice. A great view of the local hills/mountains. The proximity to a major mall, was helpful when my shoes 👞 decided to split on the sole. Every time I passed reception, they asked if all was well and offered assistance locating the 3 service locations helping with food options as well how to avoid traffic. A true local feel.

I am currently staying at this hotel for one night. When I walked into the lobby, there was a wedding happening, and the entire area was loud with live instruments and music. I went to the front desk to check in, received my room key, and headed to my room. However, the room had an unpleasant smell. I went back to the front desk and asked for a room change because of the strange odor. At first, the staff told me there were no available rooms. But after checking for a moment, they suddenly made a new room key and gave me another room. I asked how long the wedding would be going on. The staff member bluntly replied, “Until 10 PM.” I then asked, “So it will stay that loud until 10 PM?” The staff responded, “It’s a wedding. Quiet time starts at 10, so it will be quiet after that,” and added

Enjoyable stay overall. I booked through Booking.com and paid a base rate of $150 for a Two-Room King Suite (Mobility Accessible). The only reason I'm NOT giving this property 5 stars is because some parts of the room were in need of maintenance. But it was a good value for the price--- my primary consideration was location. I appreciated the size of the room, the functional balcony, the refrigerator, the microwave, the coffee pod machine (that didn't work well), the drink tickets, and the COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST. Also, there was a Target directly across the street as well as some dining options like Jersey Mikes sandwiches. Walking distance from the Brea Mall. PS: Check-in time is 4PM. I was able to get checked in at 2.

Return trip to this Embassy Suites, it’s been years since I’ve been at this location and it is still great. Rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast is always top notch - the cook and staff keep this area moving, clean and clutter free. Hotel is right next to the Brea Mall which has upgraded since I was last here. Lots of people/shops and I love that Philz coffee is here too! Target and Sprouts right across the street, you can walk to anything you need practically. Check in was amazing - thanks to Devin O. He was so pleasant and provided exceptional service! I got into my room promptly and he answered all of my questions.

Positive: Staff was wonderful. Negative: Room needs to be dusted more often. Parking is super tight. Fee for parking was not disclosed before booking.
