Embassy Suites by Hilton Baltimore Hunt Valley

This is really two hotels. On weekdays, it's a quiet, comfortable business hotel. On weekends, it's a day at the Six Flags amusement park, congested and very loud. Check in went smoothly and the staff was always very friendly and helpful. The rooms are true suites, spacious and comfortable, with two ridiculously large televisions. The breakfast is very good, with made to order omelets and waffles. But the facility is old and suffers from numerous maintenance issues. The elevators are unreliable, and our suite had water dripping down the bedroom wall. As numerous others have observed, the HVAC system simply doesn't work, producing neither heat nor A/C. I agree with other reviews...should not have had to pay for parking when there was ample parking, some items in the room were dated and spackled and in need of some tender loving care, one of the elevators was broken, the hot tub was broken. My room was very clean and cozy, the highway noise was quite loud. BUT, I have really got to give it to the staff....hands down! They were all superb. I had to make numerous calls and explain myself to each new person encountered, and they were all very kind and pleasant and accommodating. We stayed overnight due to my grandson having surgery at Hopkins and we didn't know until last minute that we might have to stay an additional night. Carol checked me in and was very nice and accommodating. The hotel is clean. My main issue was the room temperature. I clicked the unit down to 65 but it definitely was not 65 in there. I opened the sliding door but the noise from the highway was too loud so that wasn't an option. Good breakfast choices though. Also, why is the hotel charging to park???? There is ample parking and this hotel is in a suburb. Do better!

Positive: Everything was great. Super clean and comfortable rooms, breakfast options were a lot. The hot tub was hot. Drinks were decent at happy hour. Negative: The kids that overrun the pool all day and evening. Time to upgrade elevators.

Staying here now. No air conditioning. It's 80 degrees in here. Two "false alarms" on the fire system on the first night. The phones in the rooms are dead. Elevators are down for "renovations" and there's a sign talking about their "elevator journey" and how them being under renovation is them having "listened" to the guests, instead of acknowledging that "an eight-story hotel without working elevators isn't acceptable." There are cheaper options with more amenities that work. Don't spend money here.
