Elko KOA Journey

This is another tough one. Great park BUT for the train which started blowing its horn every hour from 9:30 PM to 1230 midnight then started again at 4:30 AM. I love it here, great spot with shade and my spot is nice with a table and grass for my pup but for the train horn! Next year I’m not staying in town near the tracks.

Needed to go into the smoke-filled bar to wait for the bartender to walk over to the next room at registration to help us. The sites were nothing great, but at least everything did work. would not want to stay here again even for the one night. booking it under a KOA gives you a False sense of security and quality.

Clean restrooms and showers. Sites and dog park small and gravel with a small patch of grass on the sites. The bar on site was nice for a game of pool after a long day. Laundry closes at 7. Would stay again passing through.

This was the most minimal spot I have yet to see. It had only gravel and minimal space between the hook ups for each spot. You have to unhook. It has 30 amp, water and sewer.

Nice site. Quiet. Like the grassy area for our dog and the are had a pit and BBQ. Downside! Sprinklers turn on in the morning. We couldn’t use the space as intended for part of our stay. Check in was easy but it’s one person working the bar and the check in so we had to wait and eventually go in to the bar. The girl was nice at check in BUT that changed once we settled and went back to the “restaurant”. She was so rude! I can’t even describe how rude the girl was. From the moment we walked in she seemed irked that we came in to eat. She was rude taking our order. She disappeared after the food was delivered. I thought she walked out and quit. She was nowhere to be found. A nice woman helped locate her so we can pay our bill. The young guy who made our food was nice. Kept apologizing.
