El Rancho Hotel

First day they chose not to provide any housekeeping qhen we had another day to stay. Then, on the second (checkout) day, Housekeeping thought it apprapriate to walk into our room at 0930 in the morning while we were showering. Door was locked, wurh do not disturb out, and check out wasnt until 1100. Spoke to the front desk and was told its no big deal. Its a huge deal!

I reserved a king room and when I got there they said they didn’t have one and told me that just because I reserved one doesn’t mean you will get it. So they showed me a double queen and the air didn’t work they showed me another and that air didn’t work and the room smelled musty. I tried e mailing the motel but the address listed did not work. This motel was built in the 50’s and was a nice place but is really run down now. I did not stay in it.

Do whatever you can to get an inside room. The outside rooms are big, but the heat/ac is terrible. I measured 110 degrees with my handheld temperature gun. It's hard to get the temperature right. Barely move it and it'll go all the way hot. Move it down at all and you'll freeze to death. I'd wake up when it was -20 to -30 outside to the room feeling like the same temperature. The restaurant inside the hotel is good though... But beg for and inside room if you have to.

I was passing through for work. As a single female, I didn’t feel safe enough to walk around town in this area. The receptionist was nice and it was a casual check-in…when I offered my license she said no need…she believed who I was. The room was on the interior vs having a door to the outside. It was clean, but really stuffy with no windows that open and smelled like the air filters needed changing or maybe it was the old carpet. It’s got a big fluorescent light in addition to a table and floor lamp. Large room but no desk and weak internet. The bed was pretty comfortable, but has old bed spread and blanket that I’m not sure get washed regularly. There’s no shampoo / conditioner. Room has big tv, fridge, microwave. It was pretty quiet….lots of large trucks in lot and workers stay here.

My room had a dirty shower that was clogged, no shampoo or conditioner my first night; there was a really annoying beeping sound in hallway- had to drown out noise with the tv or AC. AC/heater is outdated and very loud (i realize most heating/cooling units in hotels are loud, but this was next level for the first 30 minutes, lol). The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were worn out. The gym had only 4 outdated cardio machines - no free weights, Some guy was going around trying his key on doors, including mine, and it freaked me out - I think it may have been the maintenance guy because I saw him working on the outside doors later that day. So that didn't make me feel super safe. The staff was nice. Would have put a 1 star had the staff not been so friendly.
