Customer Reviews
We went in the winter with the children and it was a great choice! I confess that the first night wasn't so pleasant. We stayed in a different room than the one we requested. But the next day we went to the reception of the tower on the left side and the receptionist TONI was simply amazing! Super attentive to our complaint and very helpful! She managed to arrange everything so that we could move to a much better room than we expected! The rest of the days were fantastic and we were able to sleep comfortably the following night. The restaurant at night also offers delicious food. We will definitely come back!
Our stay at this property was unacceptable from start to finish. During our three-night stay, we were already forced to change rooms once due to the heat not working in 40-degree weather. Unfortunately, the issues escalated rather than improved. On our final night, my family and I were awakened by roaches crawling in the bed — including on my toddler child. It was extremely distressing and traumatic for him to wake up to insects crawling on his body. No parent expects to console their child in the middle of the night over something like this. A hotel is supposed to be a safe, comfortable home away from home — not a source of fear and discomfort. What is even more concerning is that this did not appear to be an isolated or shocking issue to management. Staff referenced the situation using
Positive: The staff was very friendly Negative: The heater in bathroom didn't work and the iron was broken. There was cold wind coming under the door until my husband put a towel to the door.
The rooms are a little out-dated and definitely need a technological upgrade. The service was impeccable. The food in the bar was good. The pool/lazy river was nice, but the real attraction is the beautiful beach just steps outside the back doors. If you can secure a room in one of the upper floors you'll be able to enjoy the sunrise and the sun radiating off the water in the afternoon and the moon at night. The resort needs an upgrade. It takes the hot water several minutes to warm up. They need to equip the rooms with more electrical outlets and include USB ports. Other than that, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped and the TV was large.
We have been coming to Dunes yearly for quite some time now, most years.. multiple times a year. We love it. The rates are incredibly affordable. We always come in the winter months so the cold is to be expected. The rooms are very well stocked and taken care of. I see a lot of complaints about the rooms. I've yet to have a bad room. Great fun for the kids and an enjoyable atmosphere for all. We're here now and will be planning our next trip soon.
