Driftwood Shores Resort & Conference Center

Driftwood Shores in Florence, Oregon continues to be a special vacation destination for our family. We absolutely love that every room faces the beach — waking up to that ocean view never gets old. The overall experience has noticeably improved, and it’s clear that General Manager Reginald Marvin is doing an amazing job leading the property. The staff has been more welcoming, attentive, and service-focused than ever. If you’re looking for a relaxing coastal getaway with incredible views and a team that truly cares, Driftwood Shores is always worth the visit.

The location is excellent; all rooms have an ocean view. The hotel itself is clearly not new and looks a bit worn, but the rooms are clean and look fine. There is enough cookware to prepare a simple dinner. Early check-in or late check-out is available for an additional fee. Parking at the hotel should not be a problem—there are plenty of spaces.

Driftwood is extremely dated - the pictures are very enhanced. My daughter will not even sleep on the beds as it felt to "icky." The lobby is overly cluttered with items everywhere. My sheets are stained. The coffee in the room is terrible with powdered chemical filled "creamer" provided. My least favorite - the walls are very thin - woke to hear the neighbor passing gas and talking very loudly at 7:00 AM. First time I did not feel safe due to flimsy door and locks and put all kinds of things at the front door to wake me should anyone try and break in as the doors are exposed. Very disappointed. The location on the beach is beautiful - but would not recommend staying here as a location.

Lovely hotel. Clean and well appointed. Gorgeous view! Had something I, as a former hotel maid, wish more hotels had—larger trash cans. Under the sink in the kitchen was a large trash can! Yay! We were only here for two days, but with longer stays and intermittent housekeeping, people overflow their small trash cans easily and the maids are often picking trash up off the floor. Ask them!||This is a small complaint, more of a suggestion or an observation, because again, we enjoyed our stay and will return in the future. As a bubble bath addict, I notice there was a plug included for the tub, but there is a permanent metal grate that makes it impossible to use. You need one of those round plastic covers instead. My room was spacious and equipped with all I needed for a hugely satisfying stay. Staff members were friendly and helpful. The view is beautiful and it’s a very short walk to the beach, easiest access was the developed path at the northernmost end. The coupons for the restaurant were a nice surprise; the food and service were outstanding!
