My Wife and I and sons have mainly stayed at Pelican Bay for almost 25 years over our many many visits to Rockport. We have always enjoyed our stays in the past. We last visited in August a couple of months back and I noticed a roach issue, we stayed in Cottage #7 last August, I thought to myself, well this is South Texas and there are a lot of bugs but since we never had this issue inside in the past I'm certain management will address the issue. We returned a couple of months later in Oct. of 2025 and stayed in Cottage #7 again and the roach issue has significantly increased. I believe the issue can be resolved with treatment quarterly and as often as required. I totally understand that Pelican Bay has new owners and a different management style. My wife and I have been coming to The Cottages for eight years. We really aren't that picky, just expect the unit to be clean and offer usable amenities. We take advantage of the dock to experience an awesome sunrise, but we don't use the pool area. Unfortunately, we've noticed a real decline the last couple of stays although the "rules" grow. We booked three nights in August, but left after two. Reasons we left early: Sofa and chair both heavily soiled. Sliding door to bathroom was dirty and hard to operate. The bathtub/shower was filthy and almost appeared someone had walked in it with shoes. The toilet was difficult to flush (had to hold the handle down several seconds). The limited cookware was unusable; i.e., the Teflon coating almost non existent. The TV is hard to operat

We visited our friends who are staying in a cottage there. It's a nice cottage, great location, quiet, and access to their pier with plenty of seating where you can watch pelicans, heron & sunsets.

HATE the fact they use VERY HARSH CHEMICALS to clean the room, the close the door to lock in that aroma. Most likely the highly toxic FABULOSO is being used. Will not stay there again. LOVE the pool and hot tub, beds are comfy, kitchen is well stocked.

We’ve been going to Pelican Bay for over 15 years. And have always enjoyed our stay. These past year , it had a totally different feel. My guess is it has always been owned by a family and was recently sold. Immediately upon check in, my kids wanted to go swimming. So we headed to the pool. It was nice and relaxing for about 30 minutes or so when a huge family came with lots of adult and children, which no biggie. But all of them had ice chests , loud speakers playing from the pool as well as playing from someone’s truck. The pool itself is not very big and many of the adults starting playing football in and around the pool which made it impossible for anyone else to be in there. I left along with another family. There is no one in office anymore checking the grounds or making sure everyon
