I had the pleasure of fishing at the Douglas Salmon Run recently, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. We coordinated through Dave Rockwell, who connected us with John Meeks — and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. John, along with his father, welcomed us warmly and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. They took the time to show us around, helped us pick out the proper gear, and supplied hooks, rods and baits , and even guided us to a more secluded spot so we could enjoy the fishing without the crowds. Their knowledge, hospitality, and genuine passion for what they do made the entire day memorable. I highly recommend the Douglas Salmon Run with the help of John Meeks to anyone looking for a professional yet relaxed fishing experience.

I have stayed in the Douglaston Lodges several times over the past few years. Each lodge has unique characteristics but all are in immaculate condition. The beds are comfortable, the furniture is in excellent condition. They are extremely well cared for by the guests and the staff. Towels are plentiful soft and BIG. Housekeeping everyday while you enjoy some world class fishing on the river in the backyard.

Absolutely worth the money. Jeff at the counter got me hooked up with a local guide and I had the time of my life. Caught tons of fish. DSR is definitely a nicer way to fish the salmon river. It's clean well maintained and respectful fisherman. I will definitely be back again.

Was definitely worth the 5AM line wait if you don’t have a membership. Great private fishing and well worth the day pass!! Their staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Lots of action and it’s really mandatory to fly fish to really get the enjoyment of it.

D.S.R Charges a premium price to fish a river that is still too crowded. They hire extra river patrol during peak season to harass you while you are trying to fish. Paying $115.00 a day and not being able to fish the entire river, because sections are closed off to groups that paid an extra premium, proves that the D.S.R. has become nothing more than a giant cash grab. If they are going to charge as much as they are, you should be able to fish the entire river. Not just specific sections only. The only way youre going to have a good time is to hire a guide, which is additional cost. Further proving that this has become nothing more than a giant cash grab. It is ruining the sport of fishing.
