DoubleTree by Hilton Rapid City Downtown Convention Center

Thank you so much to Jenette getting me a room when the first hotel I tried was terrible. She beat the online price and provided excellent service. I am so happy here and will sleep good knowing I have a nice clean and beautiful new room. Thank you so much.

This was an unfortunate experience at the DoubleTree Downtown Convention Center hotel in Rapid City, SD. I had stayed at the DoubleTree in Deadwood the night prior before my flight was canceled out of Rapid City, so I elected to stay at DoubleTree again. Upon arrival, I was met with three young people loitering around the entrance of the hotel. Nothing crazy or dangerous, but it is an odd sight. While checking in, one of the front desk employees (who was the manager on duty I discovered), suddenly shouted "STOP", launched himself over the counter and chased after, with another employee, one of the young women who had been loitering as she tried to run out with two bottles of wine from the bar. They got into an altercation and one of the wine bottles dropped and broke all over the lobby flo

Stayed here for a week while we toured the area. The staff here are so nice. Having a restaurant on site was a plus. Food was great. Breakfast buffet was delicious. I would have given it 5 stars but there are a few things that need attention. At times trying to get an elevator was hard. Our beds in the room were comfortable. The carpeting needs to be removed and something else put in as we saw stains on it. The bathrooms need to be updated. Ours was the tub/shower combo with a shower curtain. I could see mold in the tiles. Tile floor looked old and dirty. Bottom of door looked like it needs some attention.

Old, tired convention center hotel.- former Embassy? BUT, very good Lobby bar with a great martini & good menu! Large pool, friendly, attentive staff. Rooms are big enough but bathroom very small. Lots of mildew and stained tile and upholstery...lumpy bedding. Very small elevators for a very large facility that was sold old for a concert nextdoor.

The Gold Bison restaurant on level 1 is delicious and reasonably priced. The front desk staff is very welcoming and they reach out via text to see what they can do to enhance our stay. We are here for a concert and they have a wonderful pre and post party set up on the hotel for the evening, which is unlike anything I personally have experienced before a concert. Reasonable rates and the concert venue is literally sharing the parking lot with the hotel. You could not get closer.
