DoubleTree by Hilton Dayton Fairborn

Former Holiday Inn. It was nice to see the work being put in to upgrade/update hotel. Our room was great and the updates were nicely done. I’ve stayed at updates hotels before and they usually shortcut it and the updates are poorly done, not here though! ||Only issues were that the walls/doors are extremely thin so you hear everything! Our room had adjoining room doors on either side of the room. You could see light under the doors so it wasn’t hard to understand why I heard our neighbors phone conversation. She had it on speaker and it was annoying. Also, the doors slam super loudly!! Every time someone nearby closed their room door we jumped. If we weren’t sandwiched in the middle it probably would have been better. ||Oh and the toilet frightened me, it was a little loud and I was afraid

Very disappointed in this hotel! Our room was filthy. The toilet had poop stains in it. The towels were all messed up. The floor had not been swept. The both mirrors had fingerprints on it. The beds were all wrinkled and there was a pubic hair on the pillow. We slept in the other bed. We were only there for one night. My partner did not want to complain. The breakfast was terrible. It was a bunch of microwave stuff. It was worse than any Continental breakfast I had ever had in a hotel. Very low quality breakfast had to be paid extra for it. Don't waste your money. The staff was very nice and very friendly. The downstairs lobby area looked nice. I'll never stay here again or at any Hilton after this.

Thomas, the obviously talented new chef, prepared an incredible meal for me on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. After a long and exhausting day at work, his culinary masterpiece truly hit the spot and lifted my spirits, especially with the challenge of working and traveling around the holiday! Hannah, the very skilled bartender, was incredibly kind and engaging. We had a delightful conversation, and she managed to be both attentive to our chat and efficient in serving other patrons. Her ability to seamlessly transition between conversations and her duties was truly impressive!

Extremely disappointing hotel. The room appeared nice, but the AC unit rattled so loud in the middle of the night I had to get up to make it stop. The pillows and bedding were among some of the worst Ive ever slept on. The breakfeast which you have to pay for, is also the worst breakfast Ive ever had a hotel. The coffee had a lot and I mean a lot of grounds at the bottom in my cup, the cottage cheese had a bleach taste to it so I had to spit it out, and the powdered eggs were like a sponge. Besides for that, it was unremarkable at best.

Room was amazing and staff was professional. Only issue was room was left on max a/c (if I had to guess, by previous guest). The breakfast was free for HH gold members and above and was great.
