Delta Hotels by Marriott Allentown Lehigh Valley

I’m leaving a one star for overall experience. I attended a Scrapbooking retreat. The catering staff was excellent. The concession menu staff was accommodating until we needed to order food to our ballroom. At that hour they would only deliver room service. The bartender ignored us for 15 minutes. The hockey teams were allowed to run around the halls and the parents were allowed to drink at the bar and lobby while the kids ran around until 3 am. The kids were playing hockey in the hallways until the wee hours while the parents were no where in sight. The staff did not have control of the hotel. No compensation was offered to our group, and we were expected to accept the behavior and pay full price.

We were part if a large family group booking a block of rooms for a wedding. The wedding was on a Sunday at 3 pm so most of the family checked in on Saturday so we could have an unhurried day to prepare for the service. HOWEVER.... when we checked in on Saturday we were greeted with a sign that told us that the hotel would not have running water from noon to 2 pm on Sunday. I asked the desk ckerk when they knew if this and they saud it just came up that morning. I was not convinced, if it was an emergency it would have been done immediatly and if it was scheduled maintanance they didn't tell us so we had no chance to rebook somewhere else. I wanted to personally thank Carlos and Storm at the hotel for making our stayover the best it could have been. The service and accommodation that they provided was amazing. To put it in to context we had a blown tire and were stuck in the city on our way home. They made what was a bad event manageable and reaffirmed our hotel choice. They are amazing at what they do and my wife and I are very grateful for the help and kindness they expressed during our stay there. Kudos to those two and the staff. 5 STAR SERVICE!!! We had a terrible experience this past weekend at this Delta by Marriott. We were with a large group of women scrapbooking and had the ballroom all weekend. A group of hockey players and parents came in Friday and complete chaos ensued. The children were "allowed" to play hockey in the hallways, crashing into walls and other guests. When I stepped from the elevator, I was all but knocked over by boys running with hockey sticks. This continued until after 2 AM. We attempted multiple times to speak with various staff members, but they were unable to get the situation under control. When we tried to get a coffee or a drink from the bar, we were completely ignored and watched as these hockey guest opened drinks from their own cooler! I don't know if it was the side of the building I was in, but the sound from the major highways were like I was a sleeping on the side of the road. The sound proofing of the windows need to be re- analyzed. I could hear the major traffic starting at 4:00 am as if it was 10 ft away. I heard the ground crew shoveling the snow right outside my window at 5am, however I was on the 2nd floor. I did not check in until 11pm so needless to say, I did not get much sleep. The check in experience was good, hotel cleanliness was adequate, the overall lack of sound proofing was my biggest disappointment.
