Deep Lake Campground

It’s not free anymore but it’s still cheap! Went to one of the nearby lakes and it was covered in dead bugs! Gross! Like so many bugs. You would think that you saw a spot without bugs, and more bugs would be there! The bugless spots were mere mirages! I still went in the water of course because I’m built entirely different. I learned to live with the bugs. Is that what radical acceptance is? Or is that some whole other thing. Anyways uhhh good camping, nice clean toilets considering how remote the location is.

I love this place, it is so beautiful! There is lots to do there. I would have to agree they do need a dumpster.

Definitely need 4x4 and only accesable in hmthe mid summer. Amazing suring that time though. Clearest lake ive ever swam in.

A beautiful camping area off a small lake which was perfect for paddle boarding around on. The area has plenty of surprises which I won't spoil for you. As previous reviewers have remarked the vault toilets are very clean and there is no water supply (I brought 17gal for 4 days and even with being conservative we just about ran out). Yes, there is no cell service so bring cash for the usage fees, but the lack of being able to use Internet is part of what I liked. As for the road getting there, it took me a little over two hours to drive, pot holes, washboards, rocks, ect, but that is part of a poorly maintained dirt road. On my way back they were grading part of the road so occasional maintenance is done (just don't count on it). I wouldn't drive a slammed civic or an RV bus up there but I

35 mixed sites for singles up to big groups. About half have tree cover and half are wide open. Previous campers left some of the spots TRASHED but the forest service was out cleaning them up quickly. No services so pack it in & out.
