Deadwood Gulch Resort, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

My wife and I have been visiting the gulch for a few years now and have always had a wonderful time. We were a little concerned upon learning that the resort was under new ownership, but were beyond pleased with all of the improvements we experienced on this trip , with even more in the works. The place has always been reasonably clean , but it is beyond obvious that the new ownership is taking clean to a new level. The staff is all smiles ,and very approachable and helpful. We have already booked a visit for next spring and are very excited to see the upcoming dining establishment and whatever other improvements are in store. We had issue upon checkin. Window curtain fell when tried to open. Reported to front desk to fix. No one showed up to fix. We didn’t sleep due to bright lights coming into the room. We were tired next day morning and we had to drive 5plus hours to go to Sioux falls city.This issue was reported this morning and she added these notes in to room check out. You should obtain a copy of room check out. She won’t give me because it was booked by third party.Please let me know what resolution you can provide. She said she would discount the room but since this was booked by third party. She said I should contact you since you booked my room.In case you need to contact me personally, my phone no. We had stayed here a few years ago and had a great experience. Our room was remodeled and pretty nice. This time the bed was comfy is the only reason I’m giving it two stars. Room wasn’t great. Bathroom fan sounds like a jet plane, it is attached to the light so it isn’t like it could be turned off. Breakfast options donuts, that’s it, no coffee, juice or even water. Blue Paint on the bathroom floor, leaves in the room. Three lamps, two light bulbs burned out. Tv was small and didn’t have a clear picture. People above us were very loud, they got in a fight Saturday night, yelling and screaming at one another. Husband said as we pulled away, don’t book there again. We come ever every January for a weekend away. Disappointed in a $400 stay between the two nights that was less than stellar.

Rooms were well maintained. Limited breakfast, but many places to get a good breakfast. Leon the bartender made our trip memorable! If you stay here, which I recommend you do, find him!

Always a great time. Was excited because I was upgraded to Diamond level and requested an upgrade but, it never happened. Wasn't even offered. I don't think I should have asked again if I already requested it in my note section. I asked a ground floor room and received that part.
