Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Duluth by the Mall

I travel for business a lot and this has always been my choice of stay in the Duluth area. Nice rooms, good breakfast. They say customer service can make or break an establishment. One particular older front desk agent never smiles and is always a little cross at check in. I normally look past that but tonight not allowing me to finish 10 minutes of walking on a treadmill because it's "quiet hour" seems a little rediculous. I'll be finding a different place in the future that is focused on the customer experience.

I booked our room without knowing really anything about this location, basically looking for a price that fit our budget. I was so pleased when we checked in. The room was fantastic, the pool & spa were excellent, the complimentary breakfast was better than most places. We both slept well on very comfortable beds. Everything was very clean & was well maintained. All the staff we encountered were very nice. Also they served cookies at 8pm as a nice bonus. We will definitely stay here again!

Positive: Hotel was nicely updated. Negative: The room could have had a bit more deep cleaning done. Preventative maintenance, painting etc.

Overall a fantastic stay. Clean and comfortable accommodations. Warm and friendly staff. Quiet. Great breakfast. The only reason I didnt provide a 5 star review is because the drain in room 245 was slow and the hot tub was dirty. I would stay again.

Do not book this hotel as a team! It promotes it on their website but they make it miserable. No one can talk or laugh. They promised us a conference room but took it away. They were extremely rude and threatened to kick us out for being in our room talking and laughing. However, they do allow the weed smell to permeate the whole place. Apparently that's allowed. Worst experience at a hotel ever. Plus the water came out yellow and there was no temperature control in the rooms. Place was pretty clean and the location was good. There are plenty of other hotels around there so pick one of those instead. We will not come back next year.
