Days Inn by Wyndham West Rapid City

I have had the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. I travel often for work, I was booked to stay here on December 16-18 as I usually stay at the Marriott, but there was a conference in town creating most hotels to be sold out or extremely expensive. Online this establishment doesn’t look terrible, Now, after reading back to my reviews, I wish I would’ve read more into it, but thought it was something I could put up with for a few days. I arrived to the front desk where the front desk lady who checked me in, handed me my key and said my room number out loud as a woman traveling alone with two men behind me, I quickly felt unsafe and requested that she gave me in her room, She then informed me that was the only room she had and I could not switch rooms. Stay away! Dont even make reservations! Made a reservation and called to cancel no one answering the phones had authorization! Had to send an email to a provided address. Finally got confirmation and was still charged! Tried calling again and the same run around. Have been completely ignored. Now using the dispute process with my CC company.

One of the worst hotels either of us ever stayed in. It was dirty, dingy, and felt unsafe. Our linens were dirty and stained, bad smell throughout room and lobby. Our window was busted. There were bugs. Only redeeming quality was it was near a store and starbucks. Not worth it. Homeless people were walking around in the hotel halls as well.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! This place doesn’t even deserve 1 star!! Stayed here mid October! Hotel had a very bad odour throughout the building, dirty, musty and overall just creepy and out dated. Drove down 10 hours from Canada on Thursday with my child and my 70 year old mom, checked in at 3:30am ish Friday morning and was happy to finally get some rest. We came for Black Hills Powwow so everything was booked up. Figured it would be all good as it’s a Days Inn by Wyndham. Went to bed and was immediately bit by a bed bug, I know a bed bug when I see one, as I get bad reactions. Woke up my family and we checked out at around 5:30am. Found two bed bugs, put one in a cup and took it down to front desk with us when we checked out. Asked for a refund as we only literally stayed for 2 hours. That day

Scott Caesar Dec 19, 2025, 11:01 AM EST Bed bugs and found hair on pillows and sheets. Horrible breakfast. Bathroom was gross, peeling wallpaper and mold on the shower curtain. The towels looked used with stains. The window was blocked shut with a 2X4 🙄. Just outside my window was a trash compactor that ran until past 10:30pm. Electrical panels open in the hallways. Bags of trash left overnight just outside the main door. I accidentally fell victim to “cancellation insurance” = $10 more from the third party registration. The only reason I stayed here was due to power loss from the wind storm, no power/heat/water at home. This was a gross experience, I should be refunded. Planning to call the manager today. |
