Days Inn by Wyndham Altavista

We just needed a one night stop. We arrived at 5pm and waited for about 10 minutes for anyone to show up at the front desk. The check in process was quick and easy (we booked using booking.com) and the stay was ok. The room was supposed to be smoke free but there were obvious signs that someone had smoked in the room. The bathroom fan did not work and the desk chair would not raise up so it was basically unusable for me at 5ft 6in tall. it appeared that they attempted a remodel but the workmanship was not good so if aesthetics matter to you, keep driving. On a positive note the shower had great water pressure, the room was clean, the bed was comfy and the free breakfast looked good. Unfortunately we don't eat breakfast so I cannot speak to the taste. For the price we paid, $99 after fees,

Room was really clean. Staff was absolutely AWESOME! Breakfast every morning was great. We stayed for 3 days and the hotel was really close to everything we needed and wanted to go do. Highly recommend this hotel and will be staying there again!

My first stay here in the area. Conveniently located off 29 with easy parking. It was quiet and safe. The bed was clean, comfortable and everything in the room was well-maintained. The only downside was the inability to access Netflix or any subscription services on the room's TV. The staff was pleasant but unable to assist in this regard. Didn't do breakfast, but the coffee was strong and good. I'd stay here again.

Our room smelled very badly of mildew/mold. After our 1st night we alerted the front desk but they were unable to change our room b/c the hotel was fully booked. They put a dehumidifier in the room in the morning and that evening when we returned to our room the tank was full and I emptied it into the toilet. The next morning the tank was full again. All of 3 of my family members had a sore throat, nasal congestion and headaches the next day. I would NOT recommend this hotel. They have a serious mold problem and quite frankly, should not be in business.

Had to stay here in a pinch and it worked. I stayed in the very last room at the end of the hall on the 1st floor. The WiFi connection from there was so weak it was practically unusable. This wasn't my biggest issue with this room though. This room has a serious cricket infestation. I spent half the weekend with a hand vacuum getting rid of crickets. I even found a lizard in my room at one point and had management remove it. He claimed they come in through the AC. Proper filtration would fix that issue immediately. The staff is really nice at least and the breakfast is slightly above average for hotels. I don't think I'll stay here again unless I really have too due to the bugs sadly.
