Well, it is what it is. A free camping site. No potty or fire. If the other free campground down Hecla junction is full, head on over to Dan's Land. Just be considerate enough to leave no trace. Dig a hole and throw your TP in a trash bag.
It was roped off, so couldn't camp there. You pass BLM camping on your way in. Probably about 15+ sites. Pics are from the BLM campsite
I had an amazing time at Dan's Land! Thank you very much Dan for allowing people to camp for free in the beautiful mountains of Colorado.
Car camped here over Labor Day weekend. There were a couple of other car campers but not full by any means. The property was clean, quiet and has great views! Thanks so much Dan for allowing us to stay on your beautiful piece of property, for free!
Wonderful beautiful peaceful perfect for a quick nap or overnight sleep spot! No amenities!! BE PREPARED!
