Culhane Lake Resort

We had a great time at Culhane resort we stayed in the loon cabin which was right on the water . The cabin was cute and clean . We would recommend it for a peaceful stay hearing the loons was a highlight . The host was great !

My husband and I loved staying here for a week in August of 2024. "The Loon" was our cottage and Culhane Lake was our view from the whole south side of the cabin. The silence at night was stunning and glorious. The other cottage visitors were pleasant and we would gather at the firepit at the end of each day, if we chose to do so. Lake Superior and other popular attractions are not far from this resort. Just jump on County Road 500 to start your day. Steve, our host, was very knowledgeable and helpful for all our needs. We will be reserving "The Loon" again. ❤️

If you are looking to explore the Eastern UP this is your base camp!! The host Steve showed our family true hospitality. Where to begin!? We love the EUP. It is our family's favorite place to camp and explore. We decided this year to go a step further and find a cottage. When I stumbled upon this place searching the map it was perfect for our agate hunting needs! Access to The Two Hearted, Crisp Point Lighthouse and beach, Deer Park, Muskallonge Lake, Grand Marias & Whitefish Point. You are right down the street from Tahquamenon Falls, Oswald’s Bear Ranch, Little Lake and for the kayaker or angler Culhane Lake! Newberry for gas, groceries or food is only a short drive down 500 & 123! If you enjoy the idea of rustic living & camping this is the place for you! The amenities are clean even

This charming little resort is absolutely a wonderful getaway. It certainly is not for the faint of heart. It's a long drive down a rough dirt road to reach this little peaceful place, though it is mostly a straight shot. The owner, Steve, gave wonderful directions to find the place and was more than friendly and hospitable. He made us feel at ease out in the woods, far from internet access or cell reception. The cabins are comfortable and cute. Close but not too close. The place runs on solar power and have composting toilets. There are also outhouses for each cabin. The cabin was warm and cozy. There are gas grills to use and most everything you could need to start a fire. There are more stars to be seen here than anywhere I've been. The sunrises are worth the drive.
