Crystal Inn - PortArthur

I've stayed here multiple times and the last 2 times were the worst. The rooms are not the cleanest and don't smell the best, but that's kind of what you expect. For the price for the past few days that I was staying there. I didn't have hot water whenever I'd get off work. Talk to the front desk about it. And the first day I just got told, well, you didn't tell us whenever you checked in and then they finally moved my room which had the same situation. And the time before last I had checked out early and got told I was gonna get refunded for the days that I didn't stay i had four days left and only got refunded for 2 days and the last time I stayed, I had three days left and got a total of $80 refunded. The hotel was clean but things went down hill from there. The breakfast bar was minimal at best, had to ask for coffee twice and then it took 15-20 min to get made. Tried to use my coffee maker and the on/off switch started sparking when I tried to turn it on. Turned it in to the front desk at 11AM, someone showed up at 10:30PM. There are no hairdryers in the rooms. There is a sign at the front desk to ask for one, my wife asked and was told they were all out, I had to go buy one. Only had one towel, one washcloth and no hand towel, had to ask for more.

My family and I booked two rooms for the holiday. This is a place many of my relatives go to. When we got there the sheets was dirty, and they quickly changed them. However, the staff went into our rooms once we left briefly, even though we had the do not disturb sign on the door. I had snack items on the dresser, which I just purchased, that was stolen from my room. The receptionist was very disrespectful and hung up the phone, when I requested to speak with a manager. I called several times, until someone picked up, and admitted going into my room, but said nothing was taken. When I called the following day and spoke with a manager, he stated that he reviewed the cameras and no one went into my room. Although, the items was under $30, they lied. Pros: - Cost effective - Close to the neighborhood I grew up in - Closest hotel to where I go fishing Cons: - Broken toilet can't flush due to broken chain. I informed front desk at 330pm Sunday. Again Monday morning. By checkout time Tuesday, no one had come to fix it. - Sink clogged and takes 5 minutes to drain. Informed front desk Monday morning and they let me know that they'd fix it when the manager arrived in the afternoon. Again, no one ever came. - Used bar soap from previous guest was still in the shower. Not sure how well it could have been cleaned. - Stained towels that look like they came from somewhere else

When we arrived, we were barely acknowledged. The only reason I was with the owners (they were standing in front of the building when we arrived and didn't say a thing to me) is because I went to the small window when you first walk in and she told me to go inside. The girl inside was on her personal laptop when I walked in (at the desk) and I stood there for a minute or so before she even acknowledged my existence. Other than that, check in was no problem. She just wasn't very friendly and not once did I see a smile on her face. When we went into the room, it smelled as if someone had smoked in the room. I didn't ask for non-smoking, but it also didn't clarify that it was a smoking room. We asked if they served breakfast and they said they did, but when we went to breakfast, there were 3
