Crown Inn

Well, the maid/manager had clean towels in a winn Dixie shopping cart. That alone was worth giving 5 stars that is amazing! Personally that cracked me up. Just that alone made the stay worth it. But if you just need a place to crash. Its OK. Rough area but cant blame the hotel for that. But hey, we had a place to sleep. All is good.

We flew into Ft. Lauderdale and called the hotel and were told exactly where to stand to wait for our free shuttle to the hotel. The shuttle came within 10 minutes and the driver was friendly and courteous. It was a short drive from airplane to hotel. We had no problems checking in and the front desk staff was very efficient and friendly. The rooms are large, clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom was a nice size with a walk in shower that was roomy and had plenty of hot water. There is a restaurant in the hotel where we ate dinner and the staff there was also very friendly and the food was very good. We had a great nights sleep on the comfortable beds and we took the shuttle to the cruise port the next morning for $8.00 per person. Everything was perfect and it was a great way to sta

Having stayed here before, I thought I knew what to expect—but this most recent visit pushed me to finally write a review. Unfortunately, it wasn’t for the right reasons. The room showed significant signs of neglect. There were holes in the wall that looked suspiciously like bullet holes, which is not exactly the kind of “character” one hopes for in a hotel room. Basic amenities were missing, including washcloths, and the bedding looked like it hadn’t been updated since the 1970s—tired, worn, and well past due for replacement. The refrigerator was dirty, the AC unit was placed directly beside the bed (making it nearly impossible for the person sleeping there to rest comfortably), and even the lamp was defective enough to shock my travel mate. Homeless smell comes included with your stay. They provide you with various pets, including ticks, bed bugs or roaches. Unfortunately I didn't see any mice to play with. I didn't get to use the shower out of fear of damaging the mold living in it. Also, I had a great night sleep with the soothing sound of the constant traffick noise, ambulances going on all night, it felt as if I was really sleeping in the street. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my worst enemy 💩
