Courtyard by Marriott Saratoga Springs

Overall, met the expectation. This is not a luxury spot, and gave me more "business trip" vibes than anything because of the desk in the room and lack of dresser space; but I'm not docking any points for that. It was what you'd expect from a small, value-priced hotel room. Room was clean and staff was great (shoutout Lindsey at the front desk). It was a good location, just a few blocks from the main strip, and the pool, although it was nothing to brag about, was an appreciated amenity. BONUS: What came as a VERY pleasant surprise to me was that they also had FREE EV charging in their parking lot which was insanely appreciated as we were on a road trip in a hybrid vehicle; so the extra miles meant a lot.

The stay was overall decent. There was very good customer service and communication before checking in regarding our special request. There were no overpowering scents in the room, which made for a more comfortable environment. The carpeting in the hallway was a nice touch — soft, cushy, and clean. The air conditioner was quite loud, but it did keep the room cool, which was appreciated. On the downside, I noticed tiny bugs on the bathroom floor, and the toilet paper holder was coming loose from the wall. The bed was average — not especially comfortable, but not terrible either.

Hotel was very clean and with plenty of parking. Staff was friendly helpful. Due to Covid, pool time went by appt only which was great! We got our own private pool time as a family and didn't have to worry about our kids bothering the adults relaxing in the hot tub! You need your key to take the elevator to the rooms which is a great security measure. The room was very clean and having the fridge was helpful. Tv had good channels and you control your own temperature in the room (sometimes hotel rooms are like planes, freezing!) Complimentary breakfast was pick up and go but you were allowed to sit in the closed restaurant area or on one of the many couches and chairs to choose from (all 6ft distance to others of course), including ones in front of a fire place! Had a wonderful experience during my stay. The front desk guy was very helpful. TV has the Netflix app, although it would buffer every so often. My Bistro breakfast was good. The (full) bar is open during the week days but it's just run by the bistro person, in case people think it's not open.

Read to the end and see photos attached. We asked for a quiet room, got the key, went upstairs & discovered that our room was opposite the lift and next to the room with the ice machine! Without even opening the door we went back downstairs to be told that there were no available rooms. I replied that I had not set foot in the original room but couldn’t sleep in it. The receptionist ‘found’ another room and when we entered it, were disgusted by the appearance of the bedding. It looked creased, slept in and ill fitting and we had it changed. There is no safe in the room which I regard as essential; there is a small microwave which I don’t! There are scuff marks everywhere particularly in the bathroom and the bathroom cabinet door is ill fitting. The bathroom towels had an unpleasant odour.
