I'm a fond Marriott customer and it seems like I don't always write reviews for all my stays - this one stood out so I wanted to share these thoughts. I was attending a conference at the nearby Rosen Shingle Creek, and purposely chose this property for its proximity and as a loyal Marriott person - in short it was a great decision for the much better rate, convenience to the conference and other nearby Intl Drive establishments. The property is extremely well maintained and the room was above what I normally would have expected. The highlight of the 3-day visit for me was Elias at the front desk, as an extremely helpful and courteous young man, AND the housekeeper Alejandra - she was also so friendly and helpful and with a wonderful personality - these two folks work hard to support the Ma

This is a clean, modern Courtyard branded hotel, with comfortable rooms. I stayed for one night while runnings errands in the Orlando area. Normally, I would rate this 4-5 stars. However, they charge a ridiculous $15 / night parking fee. Really? It's just a money grab. There's no other reason to park here other than to stay at the hotel, and it's not as if it is close to public transport. So pretty much everyone has to pay the fee, which is just a way to charge an excessive fee on top of the room rate. Oh - and I'm a Marriott Gold member, and this is the 2nd courtyard where this has happened. I guess it's a new Marriott policy, so I'll be taking my business elsewhere in the future.

Positive: It was very clean & looked recently remodeled. Negative: The showerhead didnt create enough water pressure, the coffee maker/coffee in the room tasted awful, the HVAC struggled to cool the room enough, the mini fridge froze our drinks & they exploded

As a Bonvoy Elite member, I expect a basic level of consistency and safety when staying at a Marriott-branded property. Unfortunately, this location fell short in several areas. First, the exterior lighting is inadequate. The parking lot and walkways were very dark at night, and a vehicle nearly struck me while turning through the lot. This is a safety concern that should be addressed immediately. Second, the brick walkway has tree-root upheaval, creating an obvious trip hazard. This is not minor wear and tear, it is a liability issue that needs repair. Finally, arriving at the room to find two bottles of water placed on the desk with a sign stating $5 per bottle was disappointing and frankly insulting for an Elite member.
