Courtyard by Marriott Myrtle Beach Barefoot Landing

Wish I would have read the reviews before booking. All the reviews of rooms being dirty and this hotel clearly doesn’t care to make changes. Instead, all complaints receive the same generic response. As always, front desk staff was phenomenal. Napping after your travels is nearly impossible due to housekeeping slamming doors approximately every 20 seconds for HOURS on end. In true Marriott fashion, the actual rooms are trash. You could roll out dirty, white linens behind a Taco Bell dumpster and it would be equivalent to staying at this location. Moldy bathrooms, layers of gunk buildup on walls, and paint peeling all over. TV doesn’t work correctly. Lights are delayed to come on. Doors don’t fully shut. Booked my room for 2 guest and we have one wash cloth to share 😑 This is the quality

Location of this hotel is excellent. Penny M at the front desk is amazing. The room was very clean. The food we got there was very good. They have a little market there too!

We paid extra for a balcony room and it was so small that 2 people could not pass by each other and the chairs were facing inward because there wasn't enough legroom. View was a huge tree in the parking lot. Surprising quiet though we were next to elevator. Water was hot but upgrades/maintenance couldn't be done.

Positive: night front desk receptionist she was very helpful and care about the gest. Negative: the room service lady was very rude. not professional. check out was 12pm she kept knocking the door at 12.02pm

I had a work meeting that ended up being canceled because of an incoming winter storm. I had booked a room here for two nights and no longer needed my room. When I went to cancel the room they wanted to move my reservation for any time over the next month. I did not need to move it. The meeting was canceled because of the weather. I understand that my room wasn’t supposed to be refundable but something could have been done because this was beyond my control. They finally agreed to reimburse me for one night. I am single mother and I don’t need to waste money on a hotel room for a trip I can’t even go on because of weather. There need to be exceptions. Thoroughly disappointed and frustrated. I have been a loyal Marriot customer, but no longer.
