Cottonwood Campground

This is gorgeous park! It doesn’t have hook ups of any kind, by there are showers here. It just right on the John Day River which is nice. It’s also a certified dark space area so bring your telescope! There used to be also a visitors center, and a nice community room that was having a summer school there when e came in June. The barn is very cool, as well as the poems and stories that are cut out of metal and hung in the fence leading to the trails and at the river entrances. It is just beautiful here and so quiet. It’s very nice!

I have to admit that i was not impressed with this campground. It was small and muddy and it looked like the ATV traffic had chewed up every patch of green that was on the ground. There was several trailers parked here and they looked like they had been there all summer. Not wanting to "homestead" we passed on this site and moved on for the night.
