Compass Cove Myrtle Beach Resort

Room was very spacious,modern,and clean. Our family enjoyed the breakfast buffet but be aware it's not included with your room price. It's a separate cost which was reasonable for the amount of food you can eat. This place also has a lot of pools and hot tubs in each building. You don't have to feel crowded sharing the pools with other people. Plenty of space. The staff was also friendly and attentive at check in

The staff was very attentive . Much to do in the area and ton water parks for the kids of eateries around. The location is perfect right on the beach . The parking lot is very narrow &the building are all together. So to avoid parking just to move again. Make sure you are in the correct building number. We also had a issue with our entry room key. This was minor it was handle right away. The room we chose was a 1 bedroom fully equipped suite. It was clean, fully equipped with folks ,knives ,spoons etc. During our stay we cooked a few full cooked meals plus had groceries & plenty of space left for drinks. Will stay again !!!

Positive: Location on the beach Negative: Yes, HORRIBLE experience. Locked us out of our room on last day and held our personal property hostage and extorted more money, that I didn't have. That was the only way they said we could get our key back. I paid all my money upfront. so much more to say

I have stayed at compass Cove over a dozen times and I have to say this time was very good. The renovations that they have made to the rooms have very much made this property one of my favorite’s again. Just an FYI, the renovated rooms have “deluxe” in the name. The only thing that I will say took away from our trip, was the food at the Crows Nest and Breakfast and The Compass Rose. The cheesesteak that we got from the crows nest… you could indeed taste that the meat was rancid, and that they tried to over-season it to hide the fact that the meat was old bc it was salty. I called back down to the restaurant, but they were closed. We stayed in a 2 BR 2 bath condo on the 12th floor of the Mariner bldg. We loved this room. The wrap-around balcony was awesome and the room had been recently updated. Everything was clean upon arrival. Housekeeping came daily to empty trash and exchange towels. The Mariner sits on top of the 5 level parking garage and there is an elevator on each floor of the garage so access is easy no matter what level you park on. We were given a voucher for a free breakfast for each of us. There was no buffet due to being off season but the food was good and the waitresses were friendly. All but 2 of the pools are heated and our 3 and 6 yr old grandchildren had a blast in the water. We did smell cigarette smoke a couple of times while out on the balcony.
