Comfort Suites Charleston West Ashley

First class accommodations. Check in was a breeze and the guest host Siri was delightful. The room was more than very nice with a sitting area, bedroom area, and a very nice bathroom. If there is one complaint, the traffic noise outside the window was a distraction. Perhaps a room on the other side of the building would have eliminated that.

The hotel was clean and pretty quiet considering it was surrounded by highways. The amenities were nice. They do a good job with the standard hot hotel breakfast too. Check in was easy and the desk staff was friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and in order. Hot water came on quickly and the shower was strong. The A/C cooled the room down nicely. The king room we were in had a nice sitting area with a good view of the TV. The fridge and microwave were clean and worked properly.

Front desk staff extremely rude. I will never book with this hotel ever in my life, just based off of how I was spoken to. The woman who took my call told me they do not book with locals and when I told her that was an odd policy and just needed a room for the night she cut me off and then hang up on me. When I tried calling back, she recognized my phone number, immediately put me on hold and left me there for 20 minutes until I finally hung up. So much for Southern hospitality.

This is the most unpleasant stay my friends are I have ever had. Since we walked into the lobby, floor wet and muddy from kids running out of the pool, old musty smell. Reception lady was nice tho. Hallways carpets dirty, smell got worse as we got closer to the room. Room smelled like feet, humidity, old, anything but clean. We decided to stay because we had no options left at 10pm. My friend and I went to the target near by to get new pillows, lysol to disinfect the beds and carpets and clorox spray for the restroom. It was that bad. Not worth $230 at all. To hotel management: pay your people better and make sure cleanliness is top priority. If all rooms were like ours, this place should be shut down, no joke.

Location was fairly central for our needs. Rooms were clean and reasonable size and quiet. Service was friendly and prompt. Front desk associate did not know the room was a double and not a queen even after several different requests to confirm, both on phone and onsite.
