Comfort Inn & Suites

There are not many nice places to stay in Susanville, but this place was much better than expected. I travel a lot, and while this isn't the Ritz, it was great for the price paid in Susanville. I looked at other options, but settled on the Comfort Inn. It was clean and the staff was super nice. We had to call down for more sheets, and the gentleman at the front desk was very, very nice. The girl tending to the breakfast was working hard (there was a big group at the hotel when we stayed there), she kept the room clean and items were stocked quickly. She was busy, but still very polite. Even the maid service, when walking by the hall, said to me with a smile "Good morning, I hope your having a great day." It's hard to find workers like this. I love this Hotel! It's quiet and the beds are very comfortable and its very clean. The only downside is that there are not elevators, and I never feel comfortable on the first floor when I travel. It would be nice if the Hotel would offer to carry luggage upstairs when checking in and down when leaving. Leaving an extra blanket in the room would also be nice too, especially during cold weather seasons. Also, ask if the guest need help with recommendations to eat. Susanville has very limited restaurants.

We had a large room, decently lit, with a large mini-fridge with freezer and a microwave. The bed was comfortable. AC was good but a bit noisy. The bathroom was very poorly lit, making it hard to see to put on makeup. The toilet bowl was stained, and the toilet was very low to the ground. The sink backed up. The shower head was good. Breakfast was better than average. We had a good pasta dinner at the adjacent Pizza Factory.

My husband and I found the staff very kind and helpful. The area is very clean and comfortable. Our room was perfect for us and clean. Breakfast was good and they had plenty. Convenient location for what we needed and easy parking.

Overall good stay, room was acceptable, although a little dirty, the bathroom still had hairs on the floor floors. Not really an issue just shows the attentiveness of the housekeeping staff. Was a little disappointed to go down to breakfast and find it closed. They give you a little spliff of paper with Wi-Fi instructions and on it. The breakfast hours are typed 6 to 10 AM. But,that is only for the weekends. Like I said overall good stay. But breakfast is kind of the reason why I booked here and messing up was highly discouraging.
