Comfort Inn Festus-St. Louis South

I recently stayed at the Comfort Inn in Festus, Missouri, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The staff here truly goes above and beyond—every single person I interacted with was friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell they take pride in making guests feel comfortable. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and extremely comfortable. The beds were perfect, and I slept better here than I have in most hotels. Everything looked well maintained and smelled fresh, which I really appreciated. If I had to suggest anything, it would be having slightly thicker pillows—but that’s honestly the only thing I could think of. I needed to book a room at the last minute while traveling. Upon arriving, this place seemed decent but the staff behind the desk did not seem to helpful. I stood waiting for 3-5 minutes to be waited upon, and I was the only person at the desk. While making my way to the room the stairway and the hallway seemed unclean. The carpet in the stairway was defiently not clean. On entering the room the floor was visibly dirty, the bathroom had hair in the corners, and the bed sheets were not fully clean. One of my kids repoted to me that there was garbage in the dresser drawers. We all did not feel that we wanted to take a shower in this hotel and we all ended up just sleeping in our clothes that we walked in with. Filthiest nastiest hotel I have been to in years! Filth not just poor cleaning, from the outside the lobby all the way to the rooms. When I notified the desk guy who I believe was the owner he did not care. Avoid this hotel at all cost! I spend 300 plus nights a year in hotels so I understand things happen and this was not that! It was horrible!

Beware. This location believes it is OK to charge your credit card upon check-in for your entire stay, despite holding a reservation that doesn't require prepayment. When asked, the desk clerk confirms that you won't pay until check out, but in reality, either doesn't understand what you asked or simply lies in the hopes you won't notice the immediate charge to your credit card. Should you need to check out early, their third party payables team will take their sweet time to approve and issue a credit to your credit card. This location is utilizing unconventional methods to improve their cash flow by borrowing short term from their customers. Credit authorizations/holds upon check-in are standard industry practice, but immediate charges upon check-in are predatory when the reservatio

Decent place to stay, however I would NOT recommend this hotel if you like cleanliness. The room had toe nail clippings from the previous occupant so obviously the cleaning was bare minimum. Very disgusting to see a pile of clippings next to the bed. If they can't vacuum the floor who knows if they're cleaning anything else.
