Comfort Inn Alton near I-255

I always use the Choice hotels app. It stated in app that if you live less than 20 miles away that you would have to pay a 150 deposit. At check in, I was charged 150 extra. The guy said it’s for all stays now and there’s a sign posted at the register. If I would have known that before booking, I would have choose a different hotel. The room: 115. AWFUL. It smelled of cigarette smoke all night long. Somebody was smoking in a room close by. I’m allergic to cig smoke and almost had an attack. You will hear all 1000 sirens going off all night long along with all the dogs in the area. The breakfast area was the most unwelcoming comfort inn breakfast that I ever had. He (the worker) was in the breakfast room with the lights off. I went into lobby 2 different times within an hour apart and light

Not even sure where to start when we went into the room to begin with half the lights didn’t work. I’ll post pictures on the room in general was somewhat OK. It want the best didn’t expect much but didn’t appreciate the fire alarm going off between 4 to 5 AM on Sunday morning being jolted out of bed Front desk never called never did anything. Never explained anything We had to call the front desk and the guy was super rude and half asleep and then had to ask when we got up the next morning it was turned off, went off again. Another hour later continually went off. I guess somebody was smoking in the room went to the bathroom when I was woken up and found this nice little cockroach on the wall so I’ve been trying to call the health department regarding the matter I would not recommend stay

Good morning. I hope this email meets you in good health. I am sending you this email to tell you about my experience and disappointment during my 2 days stay the the Comfort Inn in Alton Near I-255. Here is my reservation number: Confirmation Number: 73612044. My reservation at the above location was from Friday October 3rd to Sunday October 5th. My self and my family arrived at the hotel in the early hours of October 4th at approximately 0130am. Upon arrival, we were placed in Room 313. As we entered the room, we immediately detected the very strong smell of Marijuana. We couldn't stand the thought of spening the night in that room because the odor in the room was almost choking. It's really gone down hill. I've been going there for the last 15 to 20 years. Everything has gotten worse. You don't even get a full pillow anymore. The breakfast was about as bad as they get. They have a sign at the front desk talking about a deposit and that you lose the deposit if the police are called or if you're using drugs in the room or something like that. It's sad because I used to stay there with my kids when I was in town visiting family.

Location is near active train tracks. King non-smoking room was clean, but repairs needed for the shower walls. Breakfast was not good, strawberry juice was not available and was replaced with more mango. Eggs were not available and no reason as to why. I did leave a bracelet in the room and returned to retrieve it and house keeping found it.
