Colter Bay Cabins

Colter Bay Village Cabins offer a unique stay steeped in historic charm. The cabins are rustic but quite cozy. The mattresses are surprisingly comfortable. We did find the shower and bath area to be a bit small. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we would absolutely go back. Also, the wildlife around the cabins is really fun.

I stayed in cabin 202 June 16. It appeared that four cars could not fit in the small area outside, then I realized the distant building was for one family, so we only needed three spaces. I didn't want to get pine sap on my car so I parked in the middle spot. The room was depressing at first, but better when dark and lights came on. Still very over-priced. There is someone at the front desk 24 hours which was reassuring. It was quiet and we slept well. I would not stay here again.

Just stayed for one night June 1, family of 4. Took some advice from other reviews and brought a little hand vacuum with us, used it to clean up a few bugs that were around the cabin when we arrived. We were in unit 211, close enough to the restaurant that all evening we smelled the burgers cooking on their grill, but close enough for an easy walk to the marina. Shower temperature took a bit to figure out, to me the handle was "backwards" - pointed to hot when the water ran cold, pointed to cold when the water ran hot. The 4:30 position was optimal for me - lots of hot water. Turned on the electric heater in the morning to take the chill off the floor, but was very warm and cozy during the night. We were very disappointed with our recent stay at Colter Bay on August 2025. • Cabin pricing: We paid $340 for one night, which feels highly overpriced compared to other national park accommodations. For example, we have stayed in Yellowstone for nearly half the cost. Additionally, the cabins offer no Wi-Fi, which further diminishes the value. • Boat tour cost: We took the scenic boat tour for $182 ($59 per person) and felt this was a poor value. For comparison, during our July visit to Glacier National Park, we completed five boat tours—including at Many Glacier and Saint Mary—for about one-third (max $20 per person) of the price charged at Colter Bay. • Gift shop and amenities: Prices at the gift shop and across the location were consistently higher than what we’ve experienced at other n

Loved Colter Bay Cabins. Our rustic cabin had 2 rooms, 4 beds, and 1 bathroom. The beds were surprisingly comfortable. You have heat and fans, but no AC. Also includes electrical outlets. Situated on Jackson Lake. On site they have a restaurant, bath house, grocery store, gift shop, laundry and marina. It is one of the more affordable places in the park, but still on the pricey side. Make sure to walk down to the lake in the evening to catch the sunset. I recommend the next time you’re in the Tetons.
