Cliffside Falls

This is a perfect place if you're looking to unplug for a little while. It's very peaceful and quiet, surrounded by beautiful mountains, and is really a wonderful property as a whole. Walk outside at night and you'll see a ton of stars. There's a ton of space for large groups, but is also great for couples or solo visitors. It has a hot tub, game room, fire pit, lounging chairs and hammocks, and a short hiking trail to see the waterfalls. It's particularly beautiful in fall. Rick and Corrine are very hospitable, kind, and overall wonderful hosts. You couldn't ask for anyone better. One thing to note is that there is no cell service, which is the case for much of Hardy County. There is fast wifi at the house though, so FaceTime audio will be your best bet if you need to make a phone call

My family spent the weekend out here a few weeks ago! It was an incredible experience - easy to rent on VRBO (search for “Cliffside Falls WV”) and the views and quiet of the mountains is a priceless. Extremely easy to get here from DC straight up 66 and the first exit off 81 out into WV just outside Moorefield. The hosts are wonderful and the house is in excellent condition. The hike down to the falls is a bit challenging but there are some guard rails along the way - but would recommend you be prepared with hiking boots if you come out. All possible amenities (hot tub, pool table, etc) and a fully stocked kitchen with all dishes and utensils you could possibly need. You can hear the sound of the waterfall in the background from almost anywhere in the house - like being at the beach but

Beautiful, serene and peaceful. Wonderful house and amenities. Fire pit, hot tub, game room etc. Waterfall and trail within steps. Perfect getaway, especially for city folk. Highly recommended and incredible owners!

It's beautiful, but can be very dangerous. It's private property for that exact reason, and I really don't advise going there without express permission from the owner.
