Clarion Inn Atlantic City - Beach and Boardwalk

The hotel looked nothing like the photos online. From the moment we arrived, the property felt dirty and poorly maintained. The elevator area had visible grime and debris, which immediately made me question how the rooms were being cleaned. Unfortunately, the room was worse. The bathroom shower floor tile and grout were visibly dirty and stained, not something you’d expect in a properly cleaned hotel room. The mattress and bedding area had staining and discoloration, which is a major hygiene concern. A bed should be the cleanest part of the room, and this clearly wasn’t. There was also general dirt and buildup along walls and surfaces that showed this room had not been deep cleaned in a long time. We had a huge issue with service here. The breakfast and its service is horrible. They made the waffle batter running like water. Refused to give a cup for water after 10am even though we are still eating . Was not even considerate human to human for water. Straight up removed all the breakfast at 10 while people were standing with plates on new year’s day. I am not complaining about them following timings but it was very inconsiderate not to give a cup for water , the lady had it in her hand but refused to give in front of 10 other guests , let it be whatever the time . And also the point is the waffle was made before 10 am but we couldn’t eat it because of the worst consistency of the batter.

While clean, the room (and hotel) was extremely outdated. A piece of the carpet was missing from the bedroom. The desk chair had a lot of stains, as did the ceiling in the bathroom. The light cover in the bathroom had not been cleaned in a long, long while. Speaking of the bathroom, the toilet was too close to the door. I feared I would dislodge the toilet every time I closed the door.

Positive: I like that it was neat and clean. I like that I was given free Wi-Fi Negative: I didn't the fact that I had to smell the scent of chlorine the whole duration of my stay. I don't know whether it was coming from the pool or if they cleaned the bathroom with it but it disrupted my sleep.

Kept up all night from scratching sounds and police sirens outside. Horrible location but that's not the hotels fault. But the scratching sound all night..... I got up after being woken yet again so I got my flashlight out to look between the stand and the wall where I heard the sound. There's chew marks and mouse poo all over. Finally at 4am we had enough and just left for home, a 5 hour drive with little to no sleep. Tried to tell the front desk when we left but nobody in sight, we even left a cup there on the desk came back to get it 20 minutes later and keys I put in the desk were still there. . But no bed bugs no that's a plus.
