Chinaberry Campground

A ton of ants. Grass is not cut up to the water. Really large burrs. Like the size of your thumb. It’s a mud and some gravel type beach. I would prefer that over the sand. But again- there were huge ants there. We got bit several times by large flies. But that’s to be expected, I guess. There are no bouys on the water so I don’t know how deep it was. You can take your dog there. Mine smelled the water and wouldn’t go in. There were three or four other families there. Lots of young children. It’s really close to off the road and convenient. People were packed under the trees at the campsite and had their stuff strewn all over the area. One of them had a dog. There wasn’t any issues with their dog. We were happy about that. Ours stayed on the leash, and mostly kept on a tie out next to our

Peaceful, quiet, had the place all to ourselves on 7/15/24, a weekday afternoon.

We get to a campground for tents in loop 3(Chinaberry) and it is overrun with lovebugs and ants. You can't walk without them getting on your shoes. In our 10 minutes there they were already on top of the car. There were no advisories or warnings anywhere about bug problems to this level. We contact the number listed and are told to move somewhere else with tents. We get there(Cedar Point) and while not completely overrun, there are still ants over the entire field. You can not camp here unless you are going to be itching ants all night long. And again, no advisory or warnings online.

Nice area for camping. About 8 sites with picnic tables and grills, under the shade of the Chinaberry Trees! Very serene and peaceful.

There is a million tics and this particular camp site doesn't have a firepit? But the location is beautiful and breathtaking
