Chateau Mar Golf Resort Trademark Collection by Wyndham

Upon my arrival yesterday, I was greeted by two female front desk associates that were both kind and pleasant. One of them I believe was new to the position, but did a phenomenal job with checking me in and ensuring I had everything I needed. The other was very knowledgeable and offered additional information on the history of the hotel and the area. To me, this showed how invested she was in the company, its history, and the importance of keeping the culture and history alive. Upon my departure, Ariel’s warm smile and exceptional customer service was absolutely amazing. After a late night I came in and Ariel offered a late check out to ensure I was able to get enough rest. Her attentiveness, kindness, and offer was appreciated.

My recent 4-day stay at Chateau Mar Golf Resort Trademark Collection by Wyndham was unfortunately very disappointing. I’ll start with the one positive: the lobby is beautiful and makes a great first impression. Unfortunately, everything after that quickly declined. First, calling this property a “resort” feels misleading. The overall facility does not look like the photos online, and there is a noticeable old, musty smell that’s very prominent throughout the lobby and common areas. More concerning was the lack of security. Late at night there was no one at the front desk, anyone could walk straight into the building, use the elevators without a key, and access any guest floor. If I could give zero stars, I would. From the moment I arrived, this hotel looked totally abandoned and neglected. The place felt like a ghost town with virtually no staff around, yet bizarrely I noticed some people who seemed to be living there long-term. The few staff members I encountered were unmotivated and unwilling to help with anything.My room was filthy and extremely poorly maintained. There was dust and grime everywhere, and even basic amenities were missing or broken. None of the lamps even had light bulbs, leaving the room in darkness. The bathroom was the worst: the toilet paper roll hadn’t even been replaced after the last guest – absolutely disgusting and unacceptable.To top it off, the fire alarm went off late at night and blared for almost an hour. Start of, this is not a luxury resort. Pros: Staff - kind, helpful, and quick. Style - unique and enjoyable to look at. Room - one the most comfortable beds. Price - below average for area. Other guest - quite in lobby and elevator, minded thier own business when passing by. Cons - Room - no microwave big let down - frig is retro cute, but tiny. Walls - paper thin. Parking lot - little to no lights Other people - The biggest issues was the other guest. Seems they forget people stay here besides them. Loud in the halls, loud in the rooms, TV so loud you know what they are watching. Flying through the parking lot like a freeway. Overall will not be back because of the other guests. The place wasn't bad though.

Positive: "" Negative: No towels in my room. Phone in room did not work had to call front desk from my phone to ask for towels after towels were brought someone else brought a second set of towels hours later in the middle of the night while I was sleeping
