Chamlar Lakefront Resort & Cabins

We spent the 4th of July weekend at Chamlar with four friends and my wife, and it was everything we hoped for and more. The weather was perfect, and we took full advantage with long boat days out on the lake, peaceful early morning swims, and evenings spent unwinding on the beach. The cabins were charming and comfortable, and the location is ideal—tucked away enough to feel private, but just a short drive or walk from the nearby town for coffee runs and supplies. It was the perfect mix of nature and convenience. Can’t wait to come back.

We vacationed at Chamlar year after year when raising our three sons. Schroon Lake, was just steps away from our cabin door (no road to cross). It was delightful to kick off your shoes and swim for hours at the private sandy beach, play lawn games on the meticulously kept grounds, and roast marshmallows on an open fire at night. The town of Schroon Lake is an easy walk from Chamlar, and has so much to offer, places to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner, a general store, supermarket, movie theatre, pharmacy and more. Tennis courts and a medical center are just around the corner. There was free square dancing, and music jams at the Boat House. This is the ideal place to be in Schroon Lake! Private beach is lovely and the property is walkable to town. The cabins and lawn are meticulously kept. We had a lovely stay!

One of the most beautiful places on earth. I have called Chalmar my “Happy Place” for the last few years. This amazing place is a gem directly on Schroon Lake with gorgeous views. The cottages are beautifully cared for and give you a feeling of peace and comfort. I can’t say enough about how welcomed you feel by the owner and staff. A lovely place to stay and explore Schroon Lake and the Adirondacks.
