Carolina TarHeel Motel

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights and we loved it!! We had 2 beds and a separate area with a table and fridge, microwave and toaster. It was very clean and comfortable. The owners were very nice and helpful with recommendations for restaurants. We walked to the boardwalk every night and there is a nice pancake house within walking distance. We will be back.

This place is fantastic! Very close to the beach and within walking distance to many restaurants and shops, also within walking distance to the beach which is right across the street. The room was the perfect size for me and my husband and was extremely clean. Very cute place. The pool was fun also and clean. The guy at the desk was friendly and even gave us some information on local places to go and things to do. We will definitely be staying here next time we’re at the beach!

Overall the stay at this hotel wasn't bad. They have fairly big rooms, they include the bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette area with a table and three chairs. The air conditioner is a wall unit at the top of the wall in the kitchenette area above the table and chairs. There is a microwave, toaster, and mini refrigerator in the kitchenette. The biggest problem we had was that the air conditioner did not cool the entire room. We actually had to go to Walmart and buy a fan for the sleeping area. We kept the bathroom door closed at all times, because it didn't cool off anyway at all, so to us it made sense to close it off and not worry about trying to cool that area as well. Cheapest place I found to stay. Was certainly not a five star hotel, but I also didn't expect it to be. Literally 1 block from the ocean, this motel was everything we needed. A clean room to sleep in and friendly staff. I was very pleased with the overall stay. The room was a bit outdated, but it was clean. We showed up after driving all day and night at approximately 1am. At 10pm, the office called me to see when I would be arriving. After telling him I would be arriving late, he was very nice and made arrangements so I could get in my room when I got there rather than having to wait until the next day. The maid was extremely nice, even though we slept in nearly every morning, and still made sure we got fresh towels and anything else we needed. If you are snooty and expect a five star r

Very clean and very friendly staff! Although there was an odd smell when we first arrived, everything seemed very clean. The beds were extremely comfortable! They had a fridge and microwave too. Very close to the beach. It's cheap and for the price it is awesome. For sure reccomend!! We will be back! Thank you very much to the friendly staff!
